Baby Cole

Baby Cole is here! We are so happy to have him join our family!

Quick delivery info so that I have record of it: I had on and off contractions for two days starting Sunday, May 20th. Tuesday night I started really timing them and decided to go to the hospital at 1:30 am. They told me I was at a 3 and should walk the halls for an hour. So while walking laps in the hallway my water actually broke! They told me they couldn't send me home at that point :) About 5 hours later this sweet little boy was born Wednesday morning at 8:59, weighing 8 lbs even and 21 inches long.

On Thursday we were able to go home!

Jacob met us at our door yelling "Baby Cole is here!" He had actually come to see us at the hospital the day before with Aunt Cory, but he was happy to see us coming home.

My mom and dad had been watching Jacob on Thursday. I was so happy they came to meet Cole! Thanks Mom and Dad for helping us!

One proud, older brother.

Lots of sleeping and naps lately...

John's parents, Mckenzie, and Austin came up for the weekend. Thanks for your help! They also entertained Jacob on a kayaking trip which he loved!

We really are grateful for all the friends and family who have helped us the last week and a half. Again thank you to Cory, our parents, friends who watched Jacob and have brought dinners. We couldn't have done it without you!

The transition was a little hard on Jacob. We've been taking naps when and wherever we can get them. Poor guy. This last week has been easier while we figure out what works and what doesn't with two kids.

Jacob really does love having a brother though! "Two brothers laying down!"-Jacob

Here are some pictures taken at the hospital. Cole is one day old here.

He's just as sweet as can be! He's a calm and mellow baby, and we are so happy he's here with us. We are blessed to share our lives with both of our sweet boys :)

It's beginning to look a lot like SUMMER!

April has brought nothing but nice, warm weather and we love it! We have spent many days playing outside, going to parks with friends, as well as staying cool inside. Next week we are reaching into the low 90's...looks like it's going to be a hot summer :)

In advance, sorry for the dark and blurry pictures-these were all taken with my phone. We are in the process of saving pictures to hard drives and clearing SD cards in preparation for the baby coming soon! Our normal camera will be up and running in no time.

Jamba Juice runs...I've been craving smoothies a lot this pregnancy and Jacob will sit and drink almost half of my smoothie, so visiting Jamba is a win-win for both of us!

Playing outside. His popper is used as a lawn mower often...or bush trimmer, or lawn edger, or vacuum. It's so fun to see his imagination come out as he gets older.

Lining up his letter and number rocks. Thanks Cory for making him these! He loves them.

John has been busy painting and he is trying to crank out a few projects before the baby comes. Jacob is more than happy to help him! He just looks upset in the picture below because he didn't want his picture taken ;)

Reading books with Dad.

Cory and Calvin came to visit one day and we had so much fun playing at the park, going on a train ride, and visiting a local zoo.

Swimming at a friend's house!

We are having fun living close to a lake and have found a fun beach to play on. We are looking forward to exploring more of the lake's beaches and spending time there this summer. Within 15 minutes we are out the door and sitting on the beach-nice and close!

In my down time, when we have stayed inside to keep cool, I have checked off a lot of my to-do's before the baby comes. I have definitely felt the nesting stage this time around, more so than with Jacob. It's exciting to think the baby will be here in a month! We are ready to meet him and I can't wait to hold him!

The last month or so!

The last month or so has flown by! We had a great March and are looking forward to a fun April. Here are some pictures from the last month:

Working with tools.

He likes to pick the dragon to ride on.

Train ride.

After church we walked around the temple.

Temple.

Jacob took this one!

Play place where he pretended to be the mailman.

Refusing to take naps often means falling asleep in random places. He fell asleep in his closet one day too :)

Easter Party. He loves chocolate!

Playing with cousin Grant!

Cousins Ryan and Grant :)

My sister and I had the same exact due date! Now our doctors switched the days on us, but the babies will be so close!

Being silly :)

Egg hunt at Grandma Shafer's house.

Bunny bucks in the eggs!

Trading bunny bucks for prizes. He was all business!

Cousins Calvin and William.

Easter morning with his big boy smile.

Donut date with me.

Jacob often grabs three of something and says "mama, baby and Jakey". He talks more and more about the baby as the weeks pass! We are excited!

I had to add this picture from one year ago today. Look how little he was! Time flies!

Now, looking forward to a fun April and then I can't believe it will be May soon!
